Helping Children Worldwide’s Approach to Global Partnership

This website is a link to all of the supported partner organizations globally. We support organizations in the global south and elsewhere in majority world communities, by leveraging our access to technology to share their stories and impact on the local level, and giving them a platform on the global stage to garner more resources for their work. Our mission focus is to help children, and our direct mission support of partners is limited to areas where we see the greatest potential for substantially improving the lives of children.

Helping Children Worldwide recognizes that the greatest impact on the lives of children comes from the lowest common denominator – which is why we cherish the bonds of family to build resiliency and the expertise of local leadership in defining the problems in their communities that stifle the progress of young lives. WE HELP CHILDREN WORLDWIDE BY STRENGTHENING AND EMPOWERING FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES.

HCW Mission Statement – HCW BOD 2021

Radical Collaboration.

β€œOne finger cannot lift a pebble.”

Hopi proverb

We recognize that solution-development expertise is held in the hands of people who live the challenges they seek to overcome, but knowledge and resources are often located elsewhere. Consequently, we partner exclusively with organizations who desire assistance in growing their capacity to respond to identified problems. We engage in deep collaborations to develop resources and make them available for the use of our partners, including (1) financial resources; including fund development and fundraising expertise, marketing materials, access to marketing networks, and in-kind material supports; and (2) in-kind professional expertise; including training resources, best practice materials, RME (research, monitoring and evaluation), IT, curriculum, management, finance, and technical resources. We avoid organizations who believe they have all the answers, and show no interest in mutual discussions about improvement processes and change.

.

Radical Trust

Pray like it’s all up to God; act like it’s all up to you.

Saint Augustine of Hippo

We believe there is a holy intelligence behind the design of the world, and adequate resources are available to solve every problem in the world, but securing those resources requires humanity to act in concert with the intent to benefit one another. For this reason, we develop trusted partnerships with people and organizations who posses needed resources and demonstrate at a core level the same inspired human instict to share with a larger community to benefit others that brings us to this work.

Radical Honesty

β€œHonesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.”

Thomas Jefferson.

Helping Children Worldwide is a “know better; do better” organization. Our experience is that mission success is rarely more than 10%, and the other 90% is learning what you did wrong and how to fix it.

We openly accept the challenge of being open and honest about our learning process. Being humble means accepting criticism of those you seek to benefit and the judgement of those who seek to help. Criticism and negative judgement is painful, whether or not it is valid or justified.

Moreover, the only consistency in life is change and challenge, and every partnership in life is subject to challenge and change on both sides. The danger is in failing to see the change or challenges you are presented.

For this reason, we are transparent and we demand transparency.

We are open about our limitations, gaps in knowledge and abilities, and publicly acknowledge our experiences, course corrections and reasons for changed perspectives, and we expect our partners to be equally transparent and forthcoming. We research, monitor and evaluate ourselves and every partner, whether it is a program or a development partner. You can find our financial and impact information on our website as well as our partners’ impacts in our annual impact edition of the HCW Magazine EMPOWER!– and you can judge for yourself if we are meeting our mission to help children worldwide.
